Located on the shores of Cape Maclear, Gecko Lounge has a Bar & Restaurant with a growing reputations for the biggest parties and the best food on the lakeshore - we have 2 x lake view private chalets that are en-suite with kitchen facilities & have private verandas, hammock & braii areas - they come with a double bed and bunk bed so can sleep 4 people for a total of $90 ($50 for single, $70 for a double (being $35 per person) and the a further $10 per head for 3rd and 4th person).We also have a $10 a bed Shared accommodation room which has 5 x bunk beds, 1 x single and a shower and toilet - again with veranda and lake view. This can be booked for private hire should people wish to as long as a minimum of $40 is paid for the room.We have a variety of activities and services for guests such as water sports like wake-boarding & skiing, hiking and treks in the hills, Wi-fi internet, laptop hire & skyband access cards, DVD player and film hire, assistance and advice on boat trips, diving, kayaks, mountain bikes, transport to and from the cape & we have DSTV sat TV from SA & Big screen TV for movie nights and all sporting events.Of course this is also complemented by our fantastic veranda viewing deck to watch the cape sunsets with Malawi G&T in hand as chilled tunes fill the airwaves and all you can feel is that everything is right in the world. Set-up: 2 x private self contained chalets with kitchen facilities and en-suite shower & toilet - also have:1 x double bed & 1 x bunk bed Full working kitchen including fridge, hot plates, sink, toaster & kettle, cutlery etc Private veranda with seating Lake view and few steps from the beach Braii (barbecue) area Garden & hammocks Parking Secure electronic safe Fans & bedside lights & tables African Artwork decorating the rooms. Coming soon: 1 x double room with en-suite & lounge area, private veranda & lake view & 1 x double room with ensuite but no lake view & veranda. We have links with a number of other establishments in Malawi and can organise collections from airports, other lodges, places of residence in major areas such as Lilongwe, Blantyre, Dedza, Zomba, Liwonde etc. At present we have the Gecko Rav-4 that could do collections but usually we outsource to trusted transporters and then let clients negotiate directly after informing relevant contact details. This can include private car/taxi, luxury minibus, boats from Senga Bay to the Cape & bookings at other lodges/hotels of our trusted accommodation - all of which can be organised through us if people don't necessarily want the hassle of negotiating themselves. Main directions are found with pictures of the way at our website & following the 'how to find us' link.Head for Monkey Bay and take the turning for the cape at the petrol station 5km out - then stay on this road through the hills until you open out into the bay of cape maclear - continue past the first turning for chembe eagles nest, over the hill with the two trees, take a right before the clinic where you see all the lodge signs.Head straight into the village with the phone tower to your right - when you see the lake take a left (also will see a gecko sign) and continue on up 400yds up to Gecko Lounge on your right which you will see signposted as well.
