Thank you for checking us out! I am Mara, originally from Ireland and I want you to spend your time in Luxor at Mara House. We are not the cheapest but the saying 'you get what you pay for' is nowhere truer than it is here in Egypt, In a world economy where 'customer care' seems to have gone out the window I have built a house where, from owner to cleaner, we are all BIG into customer care. I look after my guests as I would like to be taken care of myself on holiday.Soooo, we will do out best to cater to all your needs quickly and efficiently and WE WILL NOT HASSLE YOU ABOUT TOURS OR SHOPPING! We are up front about the cost of our accommodation and tours. Tours do not involve taking you to shops or markets and we will not be taking you anywhere to make 'commission' on you! You will not be worn down and upset at the end of your stay at Mara House because of hidden extras sprung on you.Mara House is a private house which we have endeavoured to furnish in a style which reminds you what country you are in and we do the same with our food...... our Salahadeen Restaurant provides a traditional, authentic 4 course Egyptian Feast every night at 8pm in luxurious surroundings. It is a set meal during which you are served 16 - 20 Egyptian dishes, The Salahadeen fully-licensed bar will open at 6pm. Breakfast is served in your suite at your requested time.FREE PICK UP FROM TRAIN STATION & AIRPORTLaundry Service European mattresses! No bugs, ants or mosquitos!Bed linen and towels included. No shortage of hot water.Check-in 24 hours.Check-out is 12noon but you are welcome to use all facilities until you actually leave. If you are sightseeing on your last day and leaving late in the day or evening we provide shower facilities and room to freshen up before you go.Free travel and sightseeing advice.Tours available if requested and organized for times to avoid the crowds from the cruise boats and package holidays where possible. How to get there - Mara House Hotel

TRAIN STATION - We would prefer to pick you up FREE of charge because Luxor train station is very daunting for tourists, especially in the early morning when you have just woken up! It has many, many touts who deceive and divert tourists to hotels and hostels who pay them commission.But if you want to walk .....go in the right hand door of the train station and onto the platform. Turn immediate left and go down the steps. Turn right, go up the steps at the other end. Turn right, keep walking 5 - 10 mins. When you come to the bus park on your left you will also see Mara House, the big pink/peach coloured building. It has a big sign on the top corner of the building saying 'EGYPT WITH MARA'TAXI. If you want to take taxi from anywhere in Luxor tell the taxi driver to go first to the Train Station. Tell him you are going to Salakhana St. and give him the following directions. With the train station on your right drive up Ramsis St. At the end turn right. Go over the train track and immediately turn right. Keep driving (about 2 mins.) look left and drive into the open space where the buses are. You will see Mara House there.
